Simpson Group Careers

With four different operating divisions, each growing in its own right, the Simpson Group of Companies is continually looking for top notch individuals throughout the businesses. The main focus of the group is providing both services and products related to high-performance psychology. As such, we almost always look for individuals who, in addition to other designations, have at least an undergraduate degree in psychology. We will also, in some circumstances, consider people who do not have an academic background in psychology but do have a demonstrated interest in such.

We encourage you to consider reviewing and submitting your qualifications for any of the positions that have been listed below. For those who are focused on achievement and significant advancement in a supportive and high learning-curve business environment, the Simpson Group is very well positioned to meet your goals.

If you are interested in learning more about these full-time, salaried, career opportunities, please forward your career particulars to Michelle Marsden, GM of Simpson Associates:

Research Associate     Posted: April 3, 2020     [FILLED]

Our retained executive search group, Simpson Associates, continues to grow through these turbulent times. As such, reporting to the General Manager of the Division, we are looking to bring on a junior individual in our research department. This is a classic research role with extensive investigations into candidates, both by computer and telephone. Most of the work is at a very senior level — VP’s and up. Some introductory experience in the search business is preferred. As well, we are looking for an individual who has a very strong interest in corporate psychology (training will be provided) and wants to build a serious, long-term career in the executive search industry. This is a salaried position, with bonus and full benefits. The location for this assignment is any of Vancouver, San Diego or San Francisco; however, a preference for this role is to be US based.

Research Manager     Posted: April 6, 2020

As the successful candidate, you will have full responsibility for the team of researchers at Simpson Associates, the executive search wing of Simpson Group. The research team members are located in a number of different cities. As such, some travel (at some point in the future when conditions are safe given the current health crisis) will be required. Reporting to the GM, this role has been specifically designed for a first-rate research leader who possesses extensive experience in the search industry. You are fully familiar with the various methods for very in-depth candidate sourcing, are completely comfortable on a telephone and pride yourself in your leadership and training skills. As well, you are comfortable working in a remote (or virtual) business setting with a team in multiple locations. This assignment is ideally located in San Diego or San Francisco. However, we will consider candidates based in Vancouver who hold the appropriate documents to work in the USA. For a candidate based in Vancouver, the longer-term vision is a move to the western seaboard of the US.

This very serious career opportunity provides a competitive base salary, bonus, full benefits and will be ideally suited for someone who is interested and capable of significantly moving forward in their career.

Assistant General Manager     Posted: April 7, 2020

Simpson Associates is a retained, executive search group that generally handles senior searches from VP level and upwards. We are now looking for an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to fully support the extensive activities of the General Manager in this very busy Division. As the ideal candidate, you bring at least 2 years of senior retained search experience and have a demonstrated command of all aspects of the search process. As well, preferably you have at least an undergraduate degree in psychology and the capability to continue your career growth beyond being AGM. In addition, you enjoy working with high-growth companies (and those in distress) and are comfortable dealing at the CEO and Board levels.

The assignment is based in Vancouver and preference will be given to those who are, of course, eligible to work in Canada and also have a working permit for the USA (or equivalent).

As the successful candidate, you will receive a handsome base salary, bonus and full benefits.

The Simpson Group of Companies is a very well established and growing organization that provides products and services, on a world-wide basis, in high-performance psychology. Due to a retirement, we are seeking an accounting and finance professional who can take this department to the next level.

The assignment is a very hands-on and has complete responsibility and accountability for the entire accounting cycle. This includes: A/R; A/P; F/S; payroll; forecasting; budgeting; foreign exchange; Canadian and cross-border tax planning; consolidations; all government filings; and special projects as required. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer, with a dotted line to the Board.

As the successful candidate, you enjoy establishing systems, making sure all the details are covered off, and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You have no difficulty with a hands-on setting and would look forward to taking on increasing responsibility with the growth of the company.

The assignment is a full-time role, with competitive base salary, bonus and comprehensive benefits. The position is located in Vancouver and the successful candidate will need to work remotely from home at the moment.
